On Monday, December 8, 2008, the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education adopted the school system calendar for the 2009-2010 school year. The calendar was a result of input from the administration and other employees within the school system. The Superintendent's Advisory Council (SAC) drafted calendars to review with the administration, faculty, staff, and parents from their schools. The calendar options were also presented to the general public and input was solicited through members of the media as well as through the system's website.
