What are our schools doing to prevent the spread of MRSA?
The Tuscaloosa County School System is following local, state, and federal health officials' recommendations for preventing the spread of MRSA in schools. We are increasing efforts to ensure our buildings are cleaned thoroughly and routinely. Our school nurses and teachers are educating our students regarding the importance of handwashing and how to correctly perform handwashing. And our school nurses are assessing and covering skin wounds and referring students/staff with any sign of skin infection to their physician for treatment.
