  • Huntington Place is raising awareness and “whipping” childhood cancer. September is childhood cancer awareness month and our teachers have volunteered to receive a whipped cream pie in the face to raise money for childhood cancer research. Students will vote on which teacher they want to be pied in the face by putting money in that teacher’s bucket next week (9/15-9/19). The teacher that has the most money in his/her bucket will receive a whipped cream pie in the face during our assembly on Friday, September 19th. Our special guest, Kelsey Hunnicutt, will be delivering the pie in the face. Kelsey is a recent
Brookwood High School graduate that is currently battling osteosarcoma. We will also have a pajama day on Friday, September 19th, because children that have cancer spend many days and hours in their pajamas. All money raised will be donated to the Children’s of Alabama pediatric cancer research.

***Here at HPES, we strive to keep our students safe.  One way to do this is by setting up safety restrictions on our iPads.  We have tried to find information for you, the parents and guardians.  Click here to view links with information on how to set up parental controls for various devices.  If you have that is not listed, please email Mrs. Porter at kporter@tcss.net .  We will try to find that information for you.****

Notice:  Along with maintaining our instructional program, student safety remains as our greatest concern. In times of threatening conditions due to severe weather, we have developed a plan throughout the Tuscaloosa County School System to allow for a delayed opening of school. If such action is required, the time for the opening of school will be announced through all normal media outlets, system website, and parent notification system. Bus transportation schedules will be adjusted to allow for the delay and breakfast will be offered upon students' arrival to school. Schools will follow their regular afternoon dismissal plan.  If absences are related due to severe weather, please contact your local school administrators.
