    Dear Parent/Guardian,

The Tuscaloosa County School System is excited to announce an online student registration/data validation system for the upcoming school year, powered by InfoSnap. The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to verify all student demographic, emergency and medical information for your child prior to the start of the new school year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies. In short, this online process replaces all the hard copy student registration and permission forms that your child brings home on the first day of school.

When it is time to fill out the online form, you will receive a letter/email from the Tuscaloosa County School System with instructions on how to access the system for your student. The email will contain a link/instructions and a secure “snapcode” that links directly to your student’s information. You will create an account, that you will use each year for this process, and submit a form for each student in your family. To make the process easier for families with multiple students, you will have the option to copy all generic family information to all other students in your family.

We would appreciate all families to take action and complete these forms as soon as possible after receiving the letter/email. Your student’s registration will not be complete until the forms have been submitted. If you do not have access to the Internet, contact your child’s school and you can make an appointment to use a school computer to complete the process. If you have any further questions, please contact the school office.

    Important
When planning your year, please remember...

ALL of our students need to attend school daily and arrive on time.  Each time a student is absent from school he/she misses out on valuable instruction and the absence is also held against the school.  With new attendance regulations in place, Maxwell and all other schools will be penalized if our students do not attend daily.  Parents, it is critical
that you have your child/children in school everyday.

Please do not plan family vacations while school is in session.  We have seen a considerable increase in absences on Mondays and Fridays. Maxwell Elementary School students and school personnel and Tuscaloosa County School District personnel as well as State and Federal personnel will be tracking daily attendance.
Please do your part to help Maxwell meet it's required goal of 96% school wide
daily attendance. We appreciate your support as we move towards meeting the NEW attendance regulations.

  • The 7 Habits of Happy Kids

    by Sean Covey

As the faculty and staff of Maxwell Elementary, we have a common philosophy:  our love and concern for kids. Sean Covey, the author of The 7 Habits of Happy Kids emphasis' that this book can help kids in three ways:  First, it will teach them about the power of living according to principles such as responsibility, planning ahead, respect for others, teamwork, and balance.  Second, it will equip them with a common language they can use with parents and teachers. Third, kids will identify themselves in one of the characters and as a result it will helps kids apply the 7 Habits to their own lives.

    The Leader in Me

    by Stephen Covey
Maxwell faculty and staff participated in a book study called The Leader in Me

The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that acts like the operating system of a computer — it improves performance of all other programs. Based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, The Leader in Me produces transformational results such as higher academic achievement, fewer discipline problems, and increased engagement among teachers and parents. Better yet, The Leader in Me equips students with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century economy.
