Congratulations to the Class of 2013
"You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way!" Dr. Seuss, from Oh The Places You'll Go!
As the 2012-2013 school year comes to a close, the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education would like to recognize and honor the senior class of 2013.
Like those who have gone before it, this class has represented their schools and their community well - in academics, athletics, and community involvement. One of the best indications of the quality of any class is the number of students receiving scholarships. While scholarship offers continue to come in for students at each high school, the number of students receiving scholarship offers and the total dollar amount of those offers to this point are very impressive. Brookwood High School - 67 students, $1,008,000; Hillcrest High School - 73 students, $1,900,000; Holt High School - 12 students, $331,200; Northside High School - 32 students, $737,000; Sipsey Valley High School - 40 students, $875,000; and Tuscaloosa County High School - 93 Students, $1,600,000. That is a system-wide total of 317 students receiving scholarship offers of over $6,451,200.
From all of the teachers, administrators, and support staff of the TCSS, to the graduating seniors of 2013, we are proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Your future is bright, your potential is unlimited, and we look forward to the things we know you will accomplish. We wish you well, we hope we have helped prepare you for whatever lies ahead, and we send you with this old Irish blessing.
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm you heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours.
