CDL Self-Certification

If your commercial driver license will be expiring soon, you will need to fill out a Self-Certification Affidavit  (which can be downloaded from the Alabama Department of Public Safety site) and fax it to (334)-353-1980 or you can go online and complete the form @ https://app.alea.gov/CDL/ .  We also need a copy of your drivers license if you have renewed it since our last in-service.

 

 

Summer Work Schedule for 12 Month Employee’s:

All Schools, Central Office and Transportation Staff will be working a 4-day week, Monday thru Thursday.  All offices will be closed on Fridays.

 

2016 Bus Driver Recertification Dates

 

Below is a list of School Bus Recertification Dates for the year 2016.  You will need to attend on the day your school or school zone is scheduled.  Classes will be from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. each day at the bus shop.

 

Regular Route Bus Recertification Class Dates:

 

  • March 4    TCHS,   ECHOLS, CRMS,  Crestmont, Northport, Matthews, Flatwoods, Faucett Vestavia, Huntington

 

  • April 8       HCHS, HCMS, DMS, TPS, Ewood, Maxwell, Big Sandy    

 

  • May 5        Holt High, Holt Elem., Cottondale Elem., DEMS, NSMS, NSHS, Walker

 

  • Sept. 29     Brookwood Middle, Brookwood High, Brookwood Elementary, LakeView Elementary, Vance  

 

  • Oct. 7         Sipsey Valley, Buhl, Westwood, Myrtlewood

 

  • June 20      Make-up class

 

  • Oct. 27       Make-up class

 

 

 

 

 

2016 Special Needs Drivers/ Aides Recertification Dates

 

Recertification classes for Special Needs Bus Drivers and Aides will be on the following dates.  These classes are for special needs drivers and aides only.  Regular bus drivers will not be allowed to attend these classes.  The State Department has requested a limit of 30 people per class so we have divided our Special Needs Drivers and Aides into two different dates.

 

  • April 11, 2016      Bus 200 to Bus 214
  • May 11, 2016       Bus 215 to Bus 228
  • June 1, 2016         Make-up date if you can’t attend your scheduled class

 

Classes will be from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the bus shop

 

 

All Bus Drivers must complete four hours of SDE training annually in order to maintain their certification.  You must attend your scheduled class or a make-up class approved by Director of Transportation.

 

 

 

 

 

New Bus Driver Class Dates for Tuscaloosa County Schools:

 

 

Anyone wishing to attend a new school bus driver’s class will need to send us an employment application with your contact information.  All applicants must attend a new bus driver orientation class to be eligible to attend the State Class.  Our trainers will contact you with the date for the orientation class.
