Hillcrest Middle School is proud to recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in academic achievement this school year.  Our Honors Night program will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Valley View Baptist Church.  The program will begin at 6:30 p.m.  We are delighted to announce that our guest speaker that night will be Jeremiah Castille, former All-American football star for the Alabama Crimson Tide!  He played defensive back for Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant from 1979 to 1982.  Mr. Castille also played six seasons of professional football for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Denver Broncos.  He and his wife, Jean, created the Jeremiah Castille Foundation with a mission to provide positive role models for young people and to challenge inner-city students to achieve excellence.  For more information about his work with students, click  on Jeremiah Castille Foundation, Incorporated.

Flu Season Is Here
   The flu season has arrived in Tuscaloosa, and the Tuscaloosa County School System is working to protect its students and employees.
   The Tuscaloosa News has reported that flu cases are rising in Tuscaloosa. The TCSS Health Services department encourages parents and family members of all students to read the attached letter and to follow its instructions to help keep students as healthy as possible and to prevent the spreading of flu germs.
