I grew up in a small town in north Alabama called Phil Campbell. Coker reminds me a lot of PC and I think that is one of the many reasons I love Westwood so! My parents still live in Phil Campbell and I enjoy going back to visit! After moving to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama, I decided to stay here when I graduated with with a degree in Elementary Education. This begins my 26th year with the Tuscaloosa County Schools. I taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades at Englewood Elementary School for the first 14 years. I was the Reading Specialist for the system during year number 15, serving the three schools that had been through the Alabama Reading Initiative - Englewood, Huntington Place and Westwood. The next 7 years were spent teaching 2nd grade at Taylorville Primary School. I was the assistant principal at Huntington Place for one year and am starting my fourth year at Westwood. My husband, John and I have two children, Brooks and Allie Grace, who are both students at the University of Alabama. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, sitting on the beach, and watching all UA sporting events!
