      Dr. Walter Davie has worked in education for over 20 years, mostly with the Tuscaloosa County School System (TCSS), beginning his career as a teacher at Crestmont Elementary in January 1990. He most recently served as the principal of Davis-Emerson Middle School, a position he had held since 2006. He has also served as principal of Cottondale Elementary School from 2000-2005, and assistant principal of Matthews Elementary School from 1995-1997. From 2005-2006 he worked for the Tuscaloosa City School System as the Director of Federal Programs, and from 1997-1999 he was the Program Director for the Black Warrior Council, B.S.A.
