Dear Parents,

May 6-10th is National Teacher Appreciation week; however, due to ARMT testing, HPES plans to recognize its teachers the week of May 13th-May 17th. HPES PTO has organized activities for each special day next week, and the list below explains what you can do to help recognize the great teachers we have at Huntington Place!

Monday, May 13TH- HPES has crafty teachers! Give the gift of classroom supplies that your teacher can use to make learning fun!

Tuesday, May 14TH- HPES teachers are noteworthy! Have your child take a few moments to make his or her teacher a card or picture telling about all the fun times he or she has had this year. Also, teachers love sweet notes from parents, so feel free to send your own note to put a smile on your teacher’s face!

Wednesday, May 15TH- Our teachers make school easy, breezy! May is national luau month, so have your child dress in his or her favorite Hawaiian shirt or outfit to celebrate our great teachers. Parents can send fruit for the teachers to enjoy during free time.

Thursday, May 16TH- HPES Duty Free Lunch day! Let your child’s teacher relax during a quiet lunch with fellow teachers by coming to school during your child’s lunchtime to sit with the class. Parents can also bring a desert to the school for the teachers to enjoy. The teacher’s lunch will be provided by our wonderful Adopt-a-school partner, Chick-fil-a. Contact PTO by emailing huntingtonplacepto@aol.com or call Olivia Montgomery at (205) 331-8859 if you can sit with a class or help with deserts.

Friday, May 17TH- Wildcats pamper their teachers! Show your teacher how much you care by sending items that he or she could use to kick back and relax, or enjoy with their family! Have students wear their blue and white spirit gear to show how much they care.

We are so thankful to have such a wonderful group of teachers at HPES. Please do what you can to show how much we truly appreciate them!

Thanks,

Olivia Montgomery

HPES PTO President

Notice:  Along with maintaining our instructional program, student safety remains as our greatest concern. In times of threatening conditions due to severe weather, we have developed a plan throughout the Tuscaloosa County School System to allow for a delayed opening of school. If such action is required, the time for the opening of school will be announced through all normal media outlets, system website, and parent notification system. Bus transportation schedules will be adjusted to allow for the delay and breakfast will be offered upon students' arrival to school. Schools will follow their regular afternoon dismissal plan.  If absences are related due to severe weather, please contact your local school administrators.
