Maxwell Elementary School

Academic Session 2018-2019 Registration

What's Happening at "The MAX"

Students should not arrive at school before 7:20 am. There is no adult supervision until this time. When students come into the building, if they plan to eat breakfast they should enter the lunchroom and sit at their assigned tables. All students should be in their classrooms no later than 7:50 am. Students arriving after 7:50 are tardy and must be accompanied to the office by a parent for sign-in. Parents who walk their children to the classroom must wait until at least 7:30 to do so. Parents must check in through the office and have a visitor’s badge.

*Students eating breakfast at school must come directly to the breakfast line as soon as arriving at school.

*Inappropriate behavior in the lunchroom will result in a discipline referral to the office.

*Car riders eating breakfast should arrive no later than 7:20 in order to eat in the lunchroom.

*Students are expected to walk quietly and in an orderly manner to their classrooms when dismissed from the lunchroom.

  •                                      Important
When planning your year, please remember...

ALL of our students need to attend school daily and arrive on time.  Each time a student is absent from school he/she misses out on valuable instruction and the absence is also held against the school.  With new attendance regulations in place, Maxwell and all other schools will be penalized if our students do not attend daily.  Parents, it is critical that you have your child/children in school everyday.
Please do not plan family vacations while school is in session.  We have seen a considerable increase in absences on Mondays and Fridays. Maxwell Elementary School students and school personnel and Tuscaloosa County School District personnel as well as State and Federal personnel will be tracking daily attendance.

Please do your part to help Maxwell meet its required goal of 96% school wide
daily attendance. We appreciate your support as we move toward meeting the NEW attendance regulations.
