  • Awards Day 2020

Sipsey Valley Middle School faculty and staff are extremely proud to recognize our outstanding students for their amazing achievements. Because certificates could not be presented in person this year, Awards Day Programs were videotaped and linked below. Award certificates were delivered to vehicles when locker contents were picked up on May 20th. Please select the links below to watch the videos.       Book Return Challenge

Attention Students and Parents: You have a chance to win a cash prize for our school by returning your library books. Please return your SVMS library books on Wednesday, May 20th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Sipsey Valley Middle School. ReadBAMARead will give a cash prize to the county or city school that has the largest percentage of library books returned. We can do this Bears! Return those library books! Students will also be able to pick up their locker contents during this same time. (Please remain in your vehicle, and put your child's name on a sheet of paper and place it on the dashboard. Someone will deliver your locker contents and collect your library books at your vehicle.) Thank you!

Please read the following message from our band director Cody Ray:

    Parents and students,

We sure do miss you all and seeing your faces at Sipsey Valley! As the teachers have began the process of reseting our rooms for next year and finishing up last minute tasks for this year, it leaves us feeling a little empty not being able to see the faces of the best students in the state walking around in our hallways. There is so much uncertainty left with the school year going forward and in to next year, but there is one thing you can be sure of, you have a place of belonging in the Sipsey Valley Bands program! We are always looking for new students to join us in the band program not matter if you're just starting 6th grade or going into your final year in high school. The band program at Sipsey Valley offers so many wonderful opportunities that can only come from a unique experience like joining the band! From the Friday night lights to performing in Dollywood, and playing on some of the states most beautiful stages at Moody Music Building and Jemison Concert Hall (not to mention the life long friendships you will build), joining the band is the best opportunity for YOU! If you are interested, please visit https://www.bepartofthemusic.org/group/index.php?id=2995. Thank you so much and Go Bears!

     TCSS Help Line

The Help Line number is (205) 342-2920. It opened for the first time on March 27 from 8:30 - 11:00. This is a way for our families to ask questions, connect with school administrators, learn about resources in our community, and more. A translator will be available. Along with our TCSS families, we learned just yesterday that traditional face-to-face instruction for this school year has ended. Moving forward, we will continue to serve our students, and we are quickly crafting a plan to do so. We will be updating our web site frequently, and contacting our families through phone calls and other methods, with much more information. Visit tcss.net/covid19 to learn more.

      Recipes from The Valley

    Recipes from the Valley

The time has come, and the Sipsey Valley Middle School cookbooks titled Recipes from the Valley have arrived! This has been a labor of love weeks in the making because our community's recipes are finally compiled and ready for use. We have collected over 100 recipes from students, teachers, parents, and other community residents (New Hope Baptist and First Cumberland Presbyterian to name a few). Contact Mrs. Lowry if you are interested in purchasing.
