"Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body." Exercise your mind this summer by reading the book assigned to you by your new English teacher. Summer reading for the 2017-2018 school year must be completed by the first day of school.

Congratulations to the Battle of the Books Team and their fearless leader Mrs. Baker for placing second in the Battle of the Books competition. Twenty seven teams competed this year, so this was certainly an accomplishment. All team members read eight books and then answered timed questions including very small details about each one.

Online Registrion (InfoSnap) - Returning Students

Dear Parent/Guardian,

The Tuscaloosa County School System is excited to announce an online student registration/data validation system for the upcoming school year, powered by InfoSnap. The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to verify all student demographic, emergency and medical information for your child prior to the start of the new school year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies. In short, this online process replaces all the hard copy student registration and permission forms that your child brings home on the first day of school.

It is now time to fill out the online form. Each returning student (even sixth graders who will attend Sipsey Valley for the first time in 2016/2017, but attended a Tuscaloosa County school last year) should have received a letter with instructions on how to access the system. The letter contains a link/instructions and a secure “snapcode” that links directly to your student’s information. You will create an account, that you will use each year for this process, and submit a form for each student in your family. To make the process easier for families with multiple students, you will have the option to copy all generic family information to all other students in your family.

We would appreciate all families to take action and complete these forms as soon as possible. Your student's registration will not be complete until the forms have been submitted. If you did not receive your letter with your "snapcode," please contact the school office for assistance. Also, if you not have access to the Internet, contact the school office and you can make an appointment to use a school computer to complete the process. If you have any further questions, please contact the school office.

Students who are new to the Tuscaloosa County School system need to read the information below in the District Announcement section and follow the link for new student registration.
