Alabama State Report Card Released
Dear Parents and Community Members,
On December 28, 2018, the Alabama State Department of Education released the Alabama State Report Card, which uses a group of indicators to calculate letter grades for schools across the state. The purpose of this reporting system is to provide parents, community members, and others indicators of how a school or school system is performing.
The grade received reflects several factors, including Academic Achievement, Academic Growth, Chronic Absenteeism, and Progress in English Language Proficiency. Even though Taylorville Primary School didn’t administer an assessment that was used for state accountability, we received the same grade as our feeder school, which is Englewood Elementary. Therefore, Taylorville Primary received a letter grade of a ‘B’, accumulating a total of 80 points on all indicators. The following steps will be taken to increase student learning at Taylorville Primary:
We look forward to partnering with our parents and community members, as we continue to provide our boys and girls with a strong foundation in all content areas. Please contact Dr. Sharon Jennings at (205) 342-2939 if you have questions in regards to Taylorville Primary School’s Report Card.
