  • ALL Kids Health Insurance

    Does your child need health insurance? All Kids offers low cost health insurance to children up to age 19.

    Applicants must be an Alabama resident, a US citizen or eligible immigrant, under age 19, not have any other health insurance coverage, not be a resident in an institution, and not be covered by or eligible for Medicaid.

    Benefits include doctor visits, regular checkups, immunizations, prescriptions, vision care, dental care, hospitalization, mental health services, substance abuse services, emergency services, and more.

    All Kids yearly premiums are either $52 or $104 per child, determined by the ALL Kids fee group. Small copays may be required at the time of service.

         TCHS appreciates our Adopt-A-School partners, Wells Fargo Bank and FIS Global. Wells Fargo and FIS Global support the TCHS faculty, staff, and students through service and monetary support that provide grounds upkeep, student incentives, and student recognitions such as Student of the Month lunches as well as a scholarship for a graduating senior. We are thankful for their partnership and support.

    Bulletin—Thursday, April 8, 2021   

     

     TCHS Ambassador applications for the 2021-2022 school year are available in Mrs. Dunn’s room 1415. Students must be rising juniors and seniors with a “C” average. Applications/resumes must be returned by Friday, April 16th. ***Remote students can email Mrs. Dunn at ddunn@tcss.net for an application. 

    SGA will meet in the library after school for 15 minutes today.  Meeting will start immediately after school. 

    All seniors that are required to retake the WORKKEYS exam will be mailed a letter concerning testing dates, times and sections that you are required to retake. Only students with a BRONZE certification will be allowed to retake portions of the test. If you received a bronze certification and have not received a letter, please contact Julie McGillivray at jmcgillivray@tcss.net or stop by room 1408. Testing will take place on April 14-16.    

    If you are interested in dual enrollment at Shelton State, the last day to register for the summer session is April 28th.  You may also sign up for the fall session now through June 12th.  

    Now is also the time to sign up for UA Early College!  The last day to register for the summer session is April 26th.  Applications for the fall session will be accepted now through June 12th.    

       The Senior Panoramic picture is today at 8:10 a.m. in the gym. Remote students are included, as well, and need to enter the gym through the doors from the south parking lot. Masks will be required.  

     

     Seniors: cap and gown (and any other graduation items you haven't received, such as announcements) will be picked up from Jostens on Monday, April 19. This will take place during your lunch period in the Community Room. If you have a balance and need to pay, you will be expected to do so at that time also. Jostens will take cash, money orders, and cards. NO checks. Remote students will need to check in through the front office before reporting to the Community Room.  

     

     The Roaring Twenties Prom 2021 will be held on April 23rd from 8pm till 11pm at the Tuscaloosa RiverMarket. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria during lunch through this Friday, April 9th for in person students. Senior tickets will be $20 and Junior & Guest Tickets will be $60. We will accept cash, card, or check. (Checks must include 2 telephone numbers, Driver's License, and Student Name in the Memo Section) Prices will increase after April 9th. The last day to purchase tickets is April 14th. If you are bringing a guest that does not attend TCHS, you must fill out the form BEFORE purchasing the tickets.     Remote students may come to the school's office during lunch (11:47am-1:04pm) this week. If you cannot come any of the available dates, you may make an appointment with Mr. Murray by emailing him at mmurray@tcss.net

    Prom King & Queen nominations are now open. The form will be available until tomorrow, April 9th at 3:00PM. You may only vote once. See the link on Schoology to vote.   

     

    The University of Alabama has asked us to communicate their specific guidelines for upcoming prom and graduation pictures. If you decide you would like to take photos at the President's Mansion please see the guidelines on Schoology.  

    • You must emailspecialevents@ua.edu first to let us know the specific date and time you will be taking photos as well as the number of people with you. Any other inquiries should also be sent to specialevents@ua.edu.  
    • If the mansion is in use for a UA event, we will be happy to recommend alternative locations such as Mars Spring or Riverwalk. 
    • No parking in the driveway.  
    • The Mansion steps cannotbe utilized.   
    • All persons shall stay in front of the Mansion.  
    • All should be cautious, aware, and understanding that the President does reside at the President’s Mansion, and therefore, may be entering or exiting the property.   
    • The property is monitored 24/7.   
    • Props, confetti, etc. shall not be used. Nothing should be left on the Mansion grounds.  
    • The President's Mansion lawn cannot be reserved so there is no guarantee that others won't be present. 

      

    Boys basketball tryouts for the 2021-2022 season will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 27, 28, 29 beginning at 3:15pm in the TCHS gym. Students need to sign up with Coach Weeks by Friday, April 23. You must have an up to date physical with you to give to Coach Weeks before you try out.   

    Girls' basketball tryouts will be after school on Tuesday May 4th till 5:30. We will have a skills day that you can participate in to prepare yourself for tryouts on the 3rd. You must have a Physical to tryouts. If you have any questions, please come see Coach Haas in room 1310.  

      

    Summer school applications are now available. Courses are available for recovery, obtainment, or advancement. Applications are on Schoology, in the front office, and outside Mrs. Swindle’s room 2411.
