Check Out Limits

Kindergarteners will start out with one book each week and increase throughout the course of the school year.

1st - 5th Graders may check out 5 books for the week.

Students will check out one day per week during their class "library lesson". Students who are absent on their library day will check out another day that is convenient for both the teacher and librarian.

Lost or Damaged Books

Fees:

$20.00 hardback or library bound; $7.50 for a paperback

Payment for a damaged book is due immediately.

You may wait and pay for a lost book when inventory is complete in May to see if it turns up.

If you pay for a hardback or library bound book and it is found within the same school year, $10.00 will be refunded

Paperback book charges are nonrefundable.

Late fees are not charged

Replacement books are NOT accepted in lieu of the fine.

The fine is a standard price set by the district, not necessarily the cost of the book.

Damaged fines will be assesd for:

Moisture damage- however minor

Body fluid of any kind

Pulled or shredded spine

Excessive damage

Some of our books are older and have minor damage; your child will not be charged for this.

I understand that it can be frustrating to pay for a lost or damaged book, but please remember that your payment helps us keep the library full of updated books for our students for many years. Consider it a donation to your child's school library program.

We would like especially thank Mr. & Mrs. Roger Ballard for the generous donations they have made to our library. Through their generosity, we are able to add countless new books to our collection throughout the year.
