• Hi! My name is Abby Mills and I am excited about this teaching 4th grade this school year. This is my tenth year at Englewood and I have taught third and fourth grade! One fun fact about me is that I attended Englewood Elementary from Kindergarten to 5th grade!

I have lived in Tuscaloosa since I was five years old. I graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2007. I attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education. Roll Tide! I also graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Master's Degree in School Counseling.

I married my high school sweetheart, Tyler Mills, in 2012. He works at Randall Reilly as a Mobile Applications Developer.  We live in the Taylorville community and we love it. We have a daughter named Blair. We also have an adorable cat named Nickel and a dog named Maverick.

Besides teaching, there are many things I like to do.  I love to shop, read a good book, or play board games with my family and friends. A recent hobby that I have begun to enjoy is tending to house plants and patio plants. I love traveling especially to new cities and the beach. I am a huge Alabama fan, and love to keep up with everything in college football.

In our classroom, I have high expectations for my students. I recently read a quote I loved. It said "Nobody rises to low expectations."  I want every student and myself to set the bar high this year and reach our academic and personal goals. Every student is important. I want all students to be kind to each other. I love to find new and engaging ways to teach. It is my goal for our classroom to be a friendly, safe, and hands-on environment.
