Meet Miss Barnette
I am so excited to begin my seventh year teaching at Crestmont Elementary! I might be a little biased, but I think we have the most amazing students. I love watching them learn, grow, and lead in their classrooms and communities. I cannot wait to see all the wonderful things they'll do this year!!
Background and Philosophy
I am originally from Greensboro, Alabama, but have resided in Northport long enough to consider it my second home. I strive to create an environment that is inviting, safe, fun, and comfortable where my students are encouraged to ask questions and share their thoughts while becoming responsible, independent, and hard working leaders. Though I have high expectations for my students and what they will achieve, there is always time for silliness, laughter, and fun and there is no such thing as "too much" of these! I am determined to make every school year one they will never forget!
Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Alabama
Masters in Early Childhood and Elementary Education
Hobbies and Favorites
My favorite pastime is being a teacher, of course! When I am not in the classroom, you will find me doing anything and everything outside, baking, reading, pinteresting, antique shopping, crafting, decorating, or organizing. A few of my absolutely favorite things are M&Ms, movies, fingernail polish, fall weather, Diet Mountain Dew, Sharpies, and Alabama Football (ROLL TIDE!!).
