Alabama Virtual Library

  • The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, an equitable core of information sources is available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state.

    -Britannica Ebooks- Your gateway to trusted nonfiction ebooks.
     
    -Britannica Elementary School Edition-With easy-to-read articles and age-appropriate reference and learning materials, the elementary level of Britannica Online School Edition is ideal for PreKindergarten and older children.
     
    -Kids InfoBits-Continuously updated material from Gale’s Kids Infobits Presents and Blackbirch Press imprints.  Indexed, searchable content including books, magazines, news, and more than 13,000 images. InfoBits engage students with interesting facts about the subject, along with connections to current events. Audio available.
     
    -Kids Search-The Kids Search interface offers kindergarten through grade school students an age-appropriate, easy-to-use interface, with an emphasis on searching by topic, such as geography, arts & music, health, or sports.
