My name is Kayla Scott, and this is my sixth year teaching at Taylorville Primary School!
My family and I moved to Tuscaloosa in June of 2015. We love it here and being apart of the community. My husband, Vann, and I are both from a little town, Hamilton, Alabama. Hamilton is where both of our family still lives, and we enjoy visiting with them and our close friends.
I graduated from the Univeristy of North Alabama in May of 2008. My husband, Vann, is the operations manager for Tuscaloosa Coca-Cola. We have two children and a goloden doodle, Chance. We love going to Disney World, spending time with our friends and family, and attending Alabama Football and Basketball games. ROLL TIDE!! Kloe is goes to school at Englewood Elementary School. She loves to go school where my sister, Emily Harding teaches. Reece loves to go to school with his mommy and his cousins at Taylorville.
This will be my thirteenth year teaching. My first teaching job was in Verona, Missisisippi at Verona Elementary. I taught their for five years in grades first and third. My last year teaching first grade, I had a gender class of all girls. This was so much fun!! We were called the princess room. What I really enjoyed about teaching at Verona was I taught the same children "my kids" twice. I built a realtionship with them that I will continue with us the rest of our lives. In 2012, I had an opportuinty to teach at home in Marion County School System. I was the ESL teacher where I served all students in the county from grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Then, I became the instructional coach at Guin Elementary School and Marion County High School. In 2015, I began teaching first grade at Taylorville Primary School.
I am so very thankful we had the opportunity to move here and to be apart of this wonderful community and apart of the an amazing faculty at Taylorville Primary School. I know this year will look very different from last year, but I can promise we will have fun learning, and it will be filled with lots of love. I can't wait to get to know each and everyone of you as we begin this new year.
