I'm a graduate of UAB with a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Go Blazers! I have lived in Alabama my entire life. I'm originally from Montgomery and have lived in Birmingham and now Northport. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my friends, family, and dog, Simba.
I have been teaching 5th grade at Huntington Place since 2015. My interest for education was piqued in my early teens when I began volunteering with my church's children's ministry and tutoring middle school students in math. I have been blessed to work with students in many settings since then including as an outreach presenter for the McWane Science Center, a 3rd-5th grade instructor for UAB's summer CCLC (Children's Creative Learning Center), a 5th grade teacher's aide in Hoover City Schools, and a 4th grade reading and history teacher in St. Clair County.
I love teaching in the classroom and look forward to a career of loving, inspiring, and educating children. I believe every student is a capable problem solver, and it's my goal for all of my students to leave my classroom loving to learn and believing in themselves.
