Master's Degree in Elementary Education from The University of West Alabama
Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Alabama
I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama! Roll Tide! After graduating from high school in 2013, I began attending The University of Alabama in order to pursue my dream of becoming an elementary teacher! I graduated from The University of Alabama in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree. I hold certifications in both Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. After completing my first year of teaching, I went on to continue my education at The University of West Alabama. I graduated with my Master's Degree in Elementary Education in August 2020.
My teaching philosophy is characterized by a student-centered approach to teaching and learning. I believe in providing students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences in all subject areas. In addition, I believe in varying instructional strategies to meet the learning needs and interests of each and every student. I believe in creating a community of learners in the classroom, fostering collaboration, and providing opportunities for students to engage in and monitor their own learning. Furthermore, I consider creating a safe and welcoming learning environment where all students feel respected as a crucial component of student learning. The classroom should be an environment where students feel comfortable to take risks in their learning and can learn without fear of failure. I believe that a teacher should create a classroom environment that supports student growth in all areas of development. My goal is to encourage my students to become life-long learners and to create a learning environment where learner differences are embraced and celebrated.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family (especially my ADORABLE nephews), reading, and vacationing at the beach!
