TCSS to Begin 2019 Summer Meals Program Monday, June 3
Beginning Monday, June 3, the Tuscaloosa County School System will begin its summer meals program. This program provides breakfast and lunch to anyone age 18 and under at no charge. The program will operate weekdays during June and July, at a total of 12 schools throughout the county. Eight additional locations will be served by the Nutrition Ignition mobile feeding unit.
Some school sites will be open June or July only, and other school sites will be open both months. A complete list is below. Contact individual schools for serving times. A list of addresses and phone numbers for schools is available here.
Nutrition Ignition will run June 3 through July 26. If it rains, the bus will not run. Nutrition Ignition daily schedule information is listed below.
“We are expecting our program to continue to grow this year, as we are committed to serving the children in our communities,” TCSS Child Nutrition Program Director Donette Worthy said.
“We hope to see you throughout the summer for both breakfast and lunch. It is a joy for our team to be able to provide these meals.”
