I grew up in Northport and actually attended Vestavia Elementary, Riverside Junior High and Tuscaloosa County High. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education and I taught fifth grade for two years at Buhl Elementary. I quit teaching to go to graduate school where I got my Master's degree in Community Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling. I later received my Ed.S. in Counselor Education. All of my degrees are from the University of Alabama...ROLL TIDE!
I worked as an Elementary School Counselor for four years in Jefferson County before taking almost four years off to raise my two children. During that time, I worked part-time for Family Counseling Service where I co-led adult court-ordered anger management groups and I was a co-presenter for the court-ordered Transparenting Seminar for divorcing parents. I have enjoyed all of my counseling experiences but I must admit that working with children and families is my passion!
My husband, Jerry Stubbs, is the Art Teacher/Athletic Director/Volleyball Coach at Collins-Riverside Middle School. We have two active teenage children who keep us extremely busy! We are members of North River Church. In my "spare" time I absolutely love to read! I also love working 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles and playing cards and board games with my family and friends.
