    Grade/Subject: Counselor
I am so very excited to be starting my 15th year as the counselor at Faucett-Vestavia Elementary, and my 21st year in education! I grew up in Northport and actually attended Vestavia Elementary, Riverside Junior High and Tuscaloosa County High.

I have my Bachelor's degree  in Early Childhood/Elementary Education, and I taught 5th grade for 2 years at Buhl Elementary. I quit teaching to go to graduate school where I got my Master's degree in Community Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling. I later received my Education Specialist degree in Counselor Education. All of my degrees are from the University of Alabama...ROLL TIDE!

I worked as an Elementary School Counselor for 4 years in Jefferson County before taking almost 4 years off to stay home with my two children. During that time, I worked part-time for Family Counseling Service where I co-led adult court-ordered anger management groups.  I was also a co-presenter for the court-ordered Transparenting Seminar for divorcing parents. While  I have enjoyed all of my various counseling experiences,  I must admit that working with children and families is my passion!

My husband, Jerry, is the Art Teacher/Athletic Director/Volleyball Coach at Collins-Riverside Middle. We have two very active teenage children who keep us extremely busy! We spend a lot of our time watching them play sports, and we love every minute of it! In my "spare" time I absolutely love to read.  I also love working 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles and playing cards and board games with my family and friends.
