Mr. Marcus Dent Selected as Principal of Lloyd Wood Education Center
On May 11, the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s recommendation of Mr. Marcus Dent as principal of Lloyd Wood Education Center, effective July 1. The vacancy is created by the retirement of Mr. Neal Guy, who has served 30 years in the Tuscaloosa County School System.
Mr. Dent has previously served in the Tuscaloosa County School System as Holt High School Assistant Principal, and as a teacher at Flatwoods Elementary, Sprayberry Center, Englewood Elementary, and Holt Elementary. Since his time in TCSS, he has served as principal of Choctaw County Elementary School in Butler and William Radney Elementary School in Alexander City.
Mr. Dent served in the United States Marine Corps for six years, and is a Gulf War Veteran. He holds an Educational Specialist degree in Education Administration from The University of Alabama.
