Breakfast and Lunch Available to All TCSS Students, at No Cost to Families

  • September 1, 2020

Beginning Wednesday, September 2, all students in the Tuscaloosa County School System will be able to eat both breakfast and lunch at school, at no cost to students. This applies to all TCSS students - they do not have to be eligible for reduced-price or free meals. Meals available to TCSS Remote Learners, through our weekly meal pick-up, will also be available at no cost to students.

This is possible due to the USDA extending flexibilities that allowed us to provide free meals over this summer. We will be able to provide these meals at no cost to students through the end of 2020, unless funding for the program is exhausted before that time. TCSS is glad to be able to offer these meals at no cost to our students, as a way to help support our families and ensure that all students have access to nutritious food, especially during a time that has been difficult for so many.
