At the December 17 called meeting of the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education, the Board approved a resolution to provide a one-time extraordinary compensation payment of $350 to each full-time TCSS employee.

The resolution cited the commitment, dedication, hard work, and exemplary performance of TCSS employees, that has enabled the school system to meet and overcome the continuing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Even as students and staff in our buildings have been different almost daily due to COVID-19, you have worked hard to keep our doors open, keep our students fed and safe, and provide meaningful instruction,” Superintendent Dr. Keri Johnson said to faculty and staff, in an announcement about the extraordinary compensation.

“You have done all of this with extreme patience and grace throughout the semester.”

The extraordinary compensation payment will be made on or around January 8.
