August 19: Back-to-School Updates & Reminders
August 19, 2021
We’ve almost completed the first full week of the new school year! Here are a couple of important updates and reminders:
As many of you know, the Tuscaloosa County School System has recently transitioned to the PowerSchool student information system. PowerSchool replaced iNow, which was our previous student information system. TCSS is not the only school system making this transition. This is a statewide change, with every school system in Alabama moving to PowerSchool. As with any new technology, there are glitches and issues to resolve once it is implemented. Thank you for being patient as we work through this process.
If you are unable to access your student’s grades, email, or programs like Clever or Schoology, please know we are busy working to resolve these issues. Once these features are available, your school will let you know. Again, thank you for your patience, and thank you to our TCSS Information Technology Department and school staff members who continue to work diligently to complete this transition.
Masks Required on Buses
Due to a federal requirement, masks must be worn by anyone on a school bus. Bus riders, please bring a mask to wear on the bus.
We are glad to have this new school year underway, and wish you a good end to our first full week of school.
