Congratulations to our TCSS alums and educators who were part of the UA Million Dollar Band’s appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

A number of our TCSS grads are now members of the Million Dollar Band, which escorted Santa along the parade route. Also, three of our teachers played a big role in the choreography and skill displayed by the Crimsonettes and MDB Colorguard. Maxwell Elementary teacher Mrs. April Henderson serves as choreographer and instructor for the Crimsonettes. Brookwood Middle teacher Mrs. Brandy Keeton and Hillcrest High teacher Mrs. Kelsey Wicks both serve as choreographers/instructors for the MDB Colorguard. Prior to the parade, the Crimsonettes and Colorguard also opened for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall!

In addition, Ms. Emily Gray, Associate Director of Bands at Tuscaloosa County High School, is on percussion staff with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. Each year, Ms. Gray teaches students from all 50 states the parade sequence and an entire show…in less than 20 hours! This year was extra special for Ms. Gray, getting to see some of our TCSS band alums who were there to march with the MDB.

These are just a few of our students who go on to pursue excellence after high school, and our educators who invest their time and talents in the next generation. We are proud of you. Congratulations on a job well done!
