Career Technical Summer Exploratory Camp for Students Completing Grades 5 & 6

    The TCSS Career Tech Summer Exploratory Camp is a fun, four-day, no-cost experience for students currently completing 5th and 6th grades. In the camp, students explore potential careers and learn how best to prepare for them. Students may choose one of several focus areas.

    The camps will be held June 6-9, 2022, from 8-11:30 am each day, at Holt High School and Northport Career Tech Annex. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants. Parents and guardians must provide transportation to and from the camp.

    Focus Areas Offered at Holt High:

    • Basic Automotive Maintenance/Proper Use of Hand Tools/Shop Safety
    • Basic First Aid and Hands-Only CPR
    • Crafting and Creating Designs
    • Hair Braiding and Basic Facials & Manicures (Two Days Only: Tuesday, June 7, and Thursday, June 9)
    • The Human Body: Hygiene, Healthcare and How It Works

    Focus Areas Offered at Northport Career Tech Annex:

    • Basic Automotive Maintenance/Proper Use of Hand Tools/Shop Safety
    • Basic Construction: Tools and Techniques
    • Basic Electricity/Hand and Power Tools for Manufacturing
    • Basic First Aid and Athletic Taping Techniques
    • Broadcast News - Using a Camera, Interviewing, Writing News Scripts, and Editing
    • Hand and Machine Sewing
    • Basic Welding and Metal Cutting Techniques

    To register your student for a camp, be among the first to complete this registration form and submit it no later than Thursday, June 2, by 5 p.m. Space is limited. If your selected camp is already full when we receive your registration form, your student's name will be put on a waiting list.
