Meal Benefits Information

  • Applications for Meal Benefits for the 2022-2023 school year are now available. We encourage all families to complete the online application as soon as possible, because your students may qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. The reduced price for breakfast is $0.30, and the reduced price for lunch is $0.40.

If you completed a Meal Benefits Application prior to July 1, 2022, you must complete the form again, to receive meal benefits for the upcoming school year. Applications completed prior to July 1 are not applicable for the 2022-2023 school year.

Please complete the application as soon as possible, to allow time for your application to be processed before the first day of school.

Please fill out one application per household, not a separate application for each student.

Once you complete your online application for meal benefits, please allow four days for the application to be processed. Then, you may call your school and choose the option to speak to the Child Nutrition Manager, to get the results of your application. Letters with the results of your application will also be sent home after school starts.

The federal government has not extended the program that allowed all students to eat school meals at no charge for the past two school years. Therefore, families must complete a Meal Benefits Application for their students to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Students who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals will be required to pay for meals in the 2022-2023 school year.

The only exception to this is for schools that qualify through the Community Eligibility Provision, which is a federal program that provides no-charge meals to students in areas that meet certain economic requirements. Under CEP, all students at the following schools will automatically receive breakfast and lunch at no charge for the upcoming school year:
    Crestmont Elementary
    Holt Elementary
    Matthews Elementary
    Lloyd Wood Education Center

Families with students at all other schools must complete a Meal Benefits Application to qualify for free or reduced-price meals this school year.
