Congratulations to the recipients of our 2023 Educator Recognition Awards! Recipients and their guests were honored at a dinner on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. We were honored to have Alabama State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey join us as the special guest speaker for the evening. 

The Educator Recognition Awards recognize educators and education support professionals from all TCSS schools, Central Office, Maintenance Department, and Transportation Department. The honorees represent just some of the many outstanding faculty and staff members who make up the Tuscaloosa County School System.

Congratulations to our two system-wide Teacher of the Year honorees - Leana Banta of Buhl Elementary School and Elizabeth Juneau of Echols Middle School. Both of these teachers will advance to represent TCSS in the Alabama Teacher of the Year Program.

Members of the TCSS Maintenance Department were special guests at this year's dinner, in recognition of the continual work maintenance staff members do to support the education of our students and maintain our buildings.
