March 3, 2023
TCSS Students and Families,
We want to make you aware of an upcoming change affecting TCSS iPads issued to students. Beginning March 10, Facebook will no longer be accessible on these devices. This applies to anywhere the device is in use, not just at school.
When we began our TCSS Connect technology initiative, we made Facebook accessible on student iPads, because Facebook can be used to access information. However, any information students would need to access through Facebook is available through a variety of other apps on student devices. Other programs allow us to provide a higher level of online security for our students, which Facebook does not. For this reason, Facebook will no longer be accessible on our TCSS devices issued to students.
Student safety is always our highest priority. We appreciate the cooperation of our families in promoting a safe environment for our students.
Thank you,
TCSS Information Technology Department
