TCSS to Offer Meals at No Charge to Families This Summer

    This summer, our TCSS Child Nutrition Team will continue providing nutritious meals to children in our community. All children age 18 and under can eat free of charge during the summer, and TCSS has a site near you!  

    Details on locations, dates, and times are listed below.  All meals will be served inside our cafeterias. Please be sure to give a special thank you to the staff working in our cafeterias this summer. We look forward to serving the young people of our community in our school cafeterias this summer!

    Brookwood Elementary

    Weekdays, June 5 – 29 (Closed June 19)

    Breakfast: 7:30 – 8 am

    Lunch: 11:30 am – Noon

    This site is open to children 18 and under who live in areas zoned for these schools: Brookwood Elementary, Brookwood High, Brookwood Middle, Lake View Elementary, Vance Elementary. The child does not have to be enrolled in one of these schools to eat, but should live in the school zone.

    Hillcrest High

    Weekdays, June 6 – 27, July 10 – 31 (Closed June 19)

    Breakfast: 7:30 – 8:30 am

    Lunch: 10 – 11:30 am

    This site is open to anyone age 18 and under, regardless of where they live. 

    Holt High

    Weekdays, June 5 – 29, July 10 – 27 (Closed June 19 and all Fridays)

    Breakfast: 7:30 – 9:30 am

    Lunch: 11 – 12:30 am

    This site is open to anyone age 18 and under, regardless of where they live.

    Sipsey Valley Middle

    Weekdays, June 5 – 29 (Closed June 19)

    Breakfast: 7:30 – 8 am

    Lunch: 11:25 am – Noon

    This site is open to anyone age 18 and under, regardless of where they live.

    Tuscaloosa County High

    Weekdays, June 1 – 30 (Closed Mondays), July 10 – 20 (Closed Thursdays)

    Breakfast: 7:30 – 8:30 am

    Lunch: 11 am – Noon

    This site is open to anyone age 18 and under, regardless of where they live.

    Walker Elementary 

    Weekdays, June 5 – 29 (Closed June 19)

    Breakfast: 7:30 – 8 am

    Lunch: 11:20 am – Noon

    This site is open to children 18 and under who live in areas zoned for these schools: Northside Middle, Northside High, and Walker Elementary. The child does not have to be enrolled in one of these schools to eat, but should live in the school zone. 

    Summer Learning Sites

    Additionally, cafeterias will be open and serving no-cost meals to students at a variety of schools hosting summer programs. If your student’s school will be serving meals this summer, the school will share information directly with its students and families about dates and hours of operation.  Children do not have to be enrolled in a summer learning program to eat.
