Applicants for the vacancies listed will be selected on the basis of qualifications, merit, and professional ability. All positions will be remunerated according to the Tuscaloosa County School System Salary Schedule. The Salary Schedule may be accessed online. All job descriptions will be in accordance with the Tuscaloosa County Organizational Charts and Job Description manual.
The State of Alabama Department of Education has an Online Job Application program for all certified and classified positions. All applicants must use the online system to apply for jobs within Tuscaloosa County. A complete application, including reference, is required to be considered for employment.

If you are interested in employment as a teacher, but do not currently hold a valid Alabama Professional Educator Certification, there are alternate pathways to becoming a certified teacher. In particular, individuals with a bachelor's degree earned from an accredited institution with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA with strong math, science, or foreign language backgrounds are encouraged to apply for open positions in those teaching areas. All Employee Benefit questions should be directed to the Payroll Department 205-758-0411. 403(b) Plans offered through the payroll process are available to all employees paid by the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education payroll department (including substitutes). A 403(b) Plan is an employee paid benefit.
