Educating and empowering all students each and every day

The Tuscaloosa County School System serves more than 19,000 students across 36 schools in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Approximately 2,400 faculty and staff members make up the Tuscaloosa County School System, making TCSS one of the largest employers in our area.

TCSS is broken into six high school attendance zones. Our high schools are Brookwood High School, Hillcrest High School, Holt High School, Northside High School, Sipsey Valley High School, and Tuscaloosa County High School.

From fine arts and athletics, to career technical education, to dual enrollment and Advanced Placement opportunities, and more, our school system provides students with a variety of opportunities.

By student population, TCSS is the ninth-largest school system in Alabama. TCSS serves a larger geographic area than any other school system in Alabama.
