Brookwood Middle and High Students, Families, Faculty, and Staff,

We will have additional law enforcement officers at both Brookwood Middle and High today, as a measure of extra support and security for our students, faculty, and staff. This is because we received information about a threatening comment posted online by a student. Our school resource officers and law enforcement are investigating this situation. The student believed to be involved in posting the threat will not be on campus today. 

Privacy laws prevent us from discussing specifics of student discipline, but please know any student who makes comments regarding the safety of our students or school faces consequences under our student code of conduct. 

We are so thankful when anyone speaks up about a safety concern involving our students or schools. That is one of the most important ways you can help keep our students and schools safe. Please always contact law enforcement immediately if you have a concern about a possible threat to school or student safety, or you can use our confidential Speak Up for Safety tip line.
