Welcome! From your date of hire to the filing for retirement, the Tuscaloosa County School System Human Resources Department will help you throughout your career with our school system. We have approximately 2,400 full-time employees who are dedicated to serving the needs of more than 19,000 students.
Applicants for the vacancies listed will be selected on the basis of qualifications, merit, and professional ability. All positions will be remunerated according to the Tuscaloosa County School System Salary Schedule, found in the Explore More section on this page. All job descriptions will be in accordance with the Tuscaloosa County Organizational Charts and Job Description manual.

Online Application
The State of Alabama Department of Education has an Online Job Application program for all certified and classified positions. All applicants must use the online system to apply for jobs within Tuscaloosa County. A complete application, including reference, is required to be considered for employment.

The Teach-in-Alabama portal helps educators find vacancies in districts throughout the state. An account must be created for educators to search for job opportunities in their specific area(s). Access the Teach-in-Alabama website and the teacher recruitment website. Educators searching for jobs should visit this webpage.
If you are interested in employment as a teacher, but do not currently hold a valid Alabama Professional Educator Certification, there are alternate pathways to becoming a certified teacher. In particular, individuals with a bachelor's degree earned from an accredited institution with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA with strong math, science, or foreign language backgrounds are encouraged to apply for open positions in those teaching areas.
