My name is Carol Spiller Andrews. I am beginning my 30th year of teaching. I taught Kindergarten for 24 years, first grade for one year and currently I am in my fifth year serving as the Kindergarten Reading Specialist. I am a life long resident of Tuscaloosa and grew up in the Taylorville community. I am married to my husband Eric, and we are proud parents to our son Landon. Landon is a junior at the University of Alabama majoring in Geology.I enjoy taking long walks, reading, cooking, baking, shopping and watching a beautiful sunset. I love to collect snowmen and children's books and cookbooks. My favorite color is green, my favorite season is Fall and I absolutely love Key Lime Pie! Another favorite pastime is watching Alabama Football! I also love to relax at the beach and travel to the mountains. I am a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher of young children. Teaching is one of the most important, challenging and rewarding careers. I enjoy being involved in young children's lives-watching them grow and learn and knowing that I have hopefully made a difference! One of my favorite quotes...Every child deserves a champion - an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can be.Rita Pierson
