    All About Mrs.Thomas:

I grew up in Maplesville, Alabama, located in beautiful Chilton County-home of the best peaches anywhere! I am an only child and grandchild--and I am very close to my family.  My grandparents and I even share the exact same birthday! I moved to Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama. Following college I attended graduate school at the University of West Alabama, where I received my Masters degree in Elementary Education. I am also Nationally Board Certified in Early Childhood Literacy.  I spent 9 happy years at Taylorville Primary School teaching grades Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd. I was fortunate enough to be able join the faculty at Big Sandy Elementary when it opened in 2013. In March 2007, I married my college sweetheart, Charlie Thomas-from Hoover.  Now, our family happily calls the Tuscaloosa/Northport area our home.  Our life revolves around our precious children. We are proud parents to 6-year-old Cash Michael, and 17-month-old, Mary Karen. We love teaching them new things and taking them to fun places.  We are members of Northport Baptist Church where we teach in the preschool ministry department.
I love working with young children and all of the special opportunities that my job offers. I love that each day is a new adventure with a chance to have fun learning! I also enjoy mentoring student teachers. I am a Clinical Master Teacher through the University of Alabama, and often work with interns specializing in various areas.  Spending my days with the very youngest of learners is truly a blessing for me. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, sewing, cooking, traveling, crafting, Netflix and NCAA football.  Roll Tide Roll!
