I graduated from West End Christian in-- well..a long time ago! After graduating from high school I attended Shelton State for two years and went on to finished my B.S. at the U of A in '92. A few years (and children) later I returned to college obtain my Master's degree, my Educational Specialist degree and Certificate in Administration. In November 2005, I became National Board Certified and I recently recertified this past November for another 10 years!
I began my teaching career at a local private school where I taught a Pre-K class. In August 1994 I was hired at Englewood Elementary as the In-School Suspension Monitor. After serving a year in that position, I was hired as a kindergarten teacher. In the late 90's our school began to "bust at the seams" and the county board decided it was time for a new school in our area. I was fortunate to be in kindergarten at the time and was able to make the move to the new primary school. I taught kindergarten for the first year here at TPS and then our wonderful principal introduced us to Looping. For the past ten years I have been a K-1 looping teacher.
I grew up here in Tuscaloosa. I am married to John. We have two children - John Caleb(18) and Riley(10). John Caleb is a senior at Hillcrest and is on the fishing team. Riley is a fourth grader at Englewood. We worship at Taylorville Baptist Church. I love all Alabama sports - especially football! ROLL TIDE! My favorite places to visit are the beach, the mountains and Disney World. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my oldest son fish tournaments and my youngest son play sports throughout the year!
