Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade
I graduated from Central High School in Tuscaloosa in 1989. I went to Shelton State Community College on a music scholarship, and then transferred to the University of Alabama where I received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I received my masters in elementary education from UWA and am one of Taylorville's Nationally Board Certified Teachers.
I began working with elementary children when I was 16. I worked at a summer day camp and after school program for 10 years. I am beginning my 20th year as a primary grade teacher. I have taught kindergarten and first grade at Taylorville Primary. I also was Taylorville's kindergarten reading specialist for 1 year. I taught second grade at Englewood Elementary before TPS was built.
My name is Leigh Ann Williams. I am married and have 4 children. I have 3 boys ages 17, 14, and 10 and one girl who is 8. I enjoy teaching, being on the computer, scrapbooking (when I have time), playing softball (when I have time), going to the beach, and shopping. My favorite authors are Eric Carle and Dr. Seuss. My favorite colors are turquoise and black. My favorite restaurant is Red Lobster. I am looking forward to working with your child this year and helping him/her to achieve his/her full potential.
