.
Our CHAMPS may come to the library any period and will visit at their regularly scheduled time. Students may check-out two books at a time. Books are due two weeks from the day they are checked-out, and overdue books accrue fines at a rate of ten cents per day. Reference books may be checked out for one day only. If lost, the cost is $25.00 to replace a hardback book and $10.00 to replace a paperback book. Our library has a makerspace area that students can come explore. They can experience coding and robotics through Ozobots, Spheros, Ollie, Lego Mindstorm, and Dash. Build using K'Nex, Legos, or Keva Planks or use the arts and crafts area to complete projects. They may also stop in to play board games or create their own game controller using the Makey Makey. The possibilities are endless.
~Mission Statement~
The Library Media Center supports the Alabama State Course of Study, the basis of our school curriculum program and its publication Alabama's Library Media Handbook for the 21st Century Learner, as well as the National School Library Standards for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries (AASL Standards) adopted in 2017.
The Library Media Center provides open access for all students. Destiny is a Follett software product as its automated management system. Destiny provides TitlePeekTM, which gives students a chance to preview books online, and One-SearchTM, which lets students get information from the school library and the internet as a whole with a single search, and WebPath ExpressTM, which limits student searches to approved, grade-appropriate websites. Destiny access is available to teachers and students at school and at home via internet access. We have several new books!!! Come by and check them out!!
