    Grade/Subject:9-12 Theatre
I am happy to be at Hillcrest for my second year, after teaching theatre for twenty plus years with Tuscaloosa City Schools. We had a very successful and fun year in 2014-15 with HHS Theatre, with two full-scale productions; "The 25th Annual Putnam Co. Spelling Bee" (musical), and "To Kill a Mockingbird."
The students did an AMAZING job with these two shows, and we look forward to more productions this year.
In November, we will produce two one act plays:
1.) "This is a Test" a hilarious comedy about the stress of test-taking at the high school level
2.) "Check, Please" a comedy about the hazards and difficulties of all the strange people you meet in the world of blind dates.
In February, our big spring musical will be the Broadway hit, "Shrek, the Musical!" We are very excited about producing the story of everybody's favorite ogre, and bringing all the beloved characters to life on the HHS stage. We plan on including students from the feeder schools in the system as some of the cast members and bring them in for special performances as well!
In our theatre one classes, we learn about the world of theatre through a fun variety of activities, including improvisation, voice and diction, monologues, scenes, pantomimes, etc.
It is going to be another great year for HHS Theatre!
    Go Pats!
