I am proud to say that I am a product of the Tuscaloosa County School System. I attended Huntington Place Elementary School, Riverside Junior High School, and graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 2004. After high school, I attended Shelton State Community College and then transferred to The University of Alabama. I graduated 2009 from UA with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After teaching several years, I chose to further my education. I graduated from The University of West Alabama in December 2014 with my Masters in School Counseling.
I had the opportunity to teach at University Place Elementary School for 6 years. I taught kindergarten for two years and first grade for 4 years. While at UPES, I had many opportunities where I could demonstrate leadership. I was part of our school's Lighthouse team, Principal's Advisory Committee, and several other committees. Although I loved those 6 years in the classroom, I am glad that I have the chance to work at Cottondale Elementary as their school counselor.
As I mentioned, I was born, raised, and continue to reside in Northport, Alabama. I am the oldest child and have one brother named Austin. I have a sweet dog named Maggie. I enjoy home improvement projects, cleaning, organizing, watching movies, trying new restaurants, and going to the Black Warrior River and Lake Tuscaloosa.
