Education

I am a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa. Growing up in Duncanville, I attended Maxwell Elementary, Hillcrest Middle, and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2004. After beginning my college career at Shelton State, I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in 2009. I received my graduate degree in the Library Media program at the University of West Alabama in 2013. I am currently pursuing National Board Certification in Library Media!

Experience

I taught first grade at Taylorville Primary School for 6 years. This is my 4th year as the library media specialist at Cottondale Elementary!

Bio

I am very close to my family and value their opinion(s) above all else. When my mom passed away in April of 2013 it was, without a doubt, devestating. However, with my enduring faith and the love and support of my husband (Anthony), two sisters, brother, and Dad, we regain a little more strength with each passing day. Outside of family life, I enjoy traveling, witty books/TV/movies, music, and spending time with friends. I love the idea of traveling to places near and far. It is my intention to spend my lifetime seeing the world. I want to know that places and landmarks exist not because I've seen them in pictures or on TV, but because I have been there and experienced them myself! I have visited NYC four times and honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas. New York is still currently my favorite destination....but there are a list of places still to visit!

My Favorites: My favoite book is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. My favorite color is pink. My favorite movie is Elizabethtown. My favorite restaurants are Buffalo Wild Wings, The Cheesecake Factory, and Sea-n-Suds. My favorite snacks include peanut butter crackers, Raisinets, Sour Patch Kids, and Circus Peanuts.

I love improving upon our library media center at Cottondale! If you have suggestions or would like to lend a helping hand please let me know!
