I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in 2009. I received my Master's degree in the Library Media program at the University of West Alabama in 2013. In 2020, I completed the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards coursework to become a National Board Certified Teacher.

I began my career as a 1st grade teacher at Taylorville Primary School, where I taught from 2009-2015. I began my career as a library media specialist here at Cottondale in 2015. This is my 7th year at Cottondale Elementary!

My husband, Anthony, and I have quite an exciting life with 4 rescue dogs at home! We have 2 beagles (Bella & Betty) and 2 bulldog mixes (Biscuit & Otis). We also love to travel. It is my intention to spend my lifetime seeing the world. New York City is my current favorite destination....but there are a list of places still to visit!

My favorite books are Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. My favorite color is pink. My favorite movie is Elizabethtown. My favorite restaurants are Buffalo Wild Wings, The Cheesecake Factory, and Sea-n-Suds. My favorite snacks include peanut butter crackers, Raisinets, Sour Patch Kids, and Circus Peanuts.

I love improving upon our library media center at Cottondale! If you have suggestions or would like to lend a helping hand please let me know!
