Hello! My name is Mallory Smithson and I will be your child's third grade teacher this year! I am originally from Northport, AL. I graduated from Tuscaloosa County High in 2005 and received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in 2011.

This year marks my 8th year of teaching. I taught at Eastwood Middle School for three years teaching 6th grade Reading and Social Studies. I also taught one year in Kindergarten at Flatwoods Elementary. This is my fourth year teaching third grade and my fourth year teaching at Holt Elementary. Teaching has been my passion ever since I was little. I was blessed to have wonderful teachers growing up and that, along with my love of learning and working with children, is what inspired me to become a teacher. I absolutely love teaching at Holt Elementary and helping our students succeed at learning, growing, and reaching their full potential. We are going to have a great year and I am so excited about everything we will be learning and doing!

I currently reside in Northport with my husband of seven years, Kyle. We have one son, Cade, who turns four in August and are expecting our daugther, Merritt, in October!  We also have a dog, Boomer. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends, singing, reading, going to the beach, Alabama football (Roll Tide!), and being involved in our church, where I am a member of the choir and involved with our children's and women's ministries.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year and working with you and your child! It's going to be a great year! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email (both are listed above).
