    My name is Amanda Akridge.  I graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2016 with dual certification in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a minor in Spanish.  I did my internship through the Consortium of Overseas Student Teaching (COST) program in Merida, Mexico.  I have been a kindergarten teacher at Brookwood Elementary School since 2016.  I completed a student teaching placement under a fellow kindergarten teacher (Misty Jones) in the spring of 2015.  I absolutely love the Brookwood students and staff!
     
    My hobbies include watching Alabama football (roll tide!), reading, visiting with family and friends, and traveling.  I love traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures and parts of the world.  I hope to learn from each of my students this year!
