Welcome! My name is Mary Ann Cooper, and I have had the privilege of working with the sudents of Northside High School since January of 2015; I graduated from The University of Alabama in May of 2015, where I studied English and Secondary Education. Many factors furthered my desire to pursue a career in education, but perhaps the most influential of all were the teachers who, in my most formative years, shared with me their passion for language and literature. Helping my students develop a reverence for the power of words is my ultimate goal as an educator; I also hope to establish a classroom culture that is rooted in authenticity, empathy, risk-taking, and personal growth. Your student should expect an appropriate amount of challenge in my class with the understanding that high expectations produce excellence.  

I am currently serving as an instructor for Honors English 10, English 11, and Creative Writing.
