    Holt High School Counseling Program Mission Statement 

    The mission of the school counseling program at Holt High School is committed to provide all students equitable access to comprehensive and developmentally appropriate counseling services which promote respect, self-discipline, creativity, academic excellence, fairness, service to the community and accountability for all.  Through the leadership of the school counselor, students will focus on becoming college and career ready – prepared to make contributions to our global society.  The school counselor advocates for all students to become active, compassionate, life-long learners who realize their true value and worth and are contributing, productive citizens. They have the grit and resilience needed to achieve success and reach their fullest potential as world-class citizens who are knowledgeable, resilient and caring adults.  By collaborating with with counselors, social workers, educators, students, parents, and community members, the  school counseling program exists to prepare every student socially, academically, and emotionally for present and future challenges.

    About Me

    This is the start of my 18th year of teaching!  I have Master's Degrees in Secondary Mathematics Education, Computers and Applied Technology, and School Counseling.  I have taught math at both secondary and post-secondary levels.  I have also been a school counselor at an elementary school.  Teaching is my passion!  I love each of my students and want the best for all of them.  This year will be my second year as Holt High School's counselor.  I am super excited to start this new endeavor.

    I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 5 years.  We have cats named Pepper and Bear, and a dog named Finn.  I love to try out new recipes and read when I have time.
