Hello parents and students!
Echols now has a distance learning plan to keep students from falling behind and covering the standards for 4th nine weeks. Each Monday a packet with assignments from all 4 CORE classes will be posted on the home page of the Echols website. The packets will also be transported via buses on TUESDAYS and available for pick up in the car rider line in front of the gym on WEDNESDAYS. Choose the method of delivery most convenient for you.
Each packet will have one assignment per core class (Social Studies, Math, English, Science). There will be a total of 7 packets for the 7 weeks left of school. The packets will also contain links to other online resources. There will be an alternate assignment with no technology required.
Week 1 - April 6-10
Week 2 - April 13-17
Week 3 - April 20-24
Week 4 - April 27-May 1
Week 5 - May 4-8
Week 6 - May 11-15
Week 7 - May 18-22
Each week we will provide a Help Hotline Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. The number for the hotline is 205-342-2884. A different teacher will answer the hotline each day. Social Studies teachers on Mondays, Math teachers on Tuesdays, English teachers on Wednesdays, and Science teachers on Thursdays. Please utilize this hotline if you have any questions about your assignments or you may email your teacher. Please allow 24 hours for a response to teacher emails. If the teacher working the hotline cannot answer your question, he or she will put you in touch with someone who can.
I also ask for grace and patience during this time as we nagivate this new learning model and figure it out together. I along with the entire Echols faculty and staff hope your families are safe and healthy, and I can't wait to be back together next year!

***SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFIED FOR ALGEBRA ONE***
If you qualified for Algebra I in the 8th grade and you did not turn in your permission form before the break, please email Mr. Stapp (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your student's name and whether you would like to be enrolled in Algebra I or not. We did not get to have our parent informational meeting, but Mr. Foster might post a video with the information he wanted to give at the meeting. If this video does not happen and you still would like more information, please email me (email@example.com). We need to know who wants to enroll in Algebra I as soon as possible because schedules have to be done before the end of May. If we do not hear back from you, we will have to enroll everyone in Algebra I. Thanks!
